Ag59FE PoE-PD Module for Daisy-Chain Applications
SILVERTEL's Modules for Systems With Serial Node Structures
SILVERTEL offers the Ag59FE, a new Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) PD module designed specifically to simplify daisy-chain connections. Applications such as LED lighting or access control systems, where serial node configurations are preferred, can now be conveniently powered via an Ethernet PSE switch.
SamplesSuitability & Configuration
The Ag59FE is a PD control module engineered to present itself to an IEEE 802.3-compliant PSE as a Class 0–8 powered device. When configured for Class 8 operation, it can request up to 90W of power. After successful power negotiation with the PSE, the module forwards the incoming supply voltage to its output to power a Class 8 device.
Compliant Power Delivery With “Power Good” Signal
The Ag59FE is a non-isolated module. However, when combined with a 1.5kV isolated DC/DC converter, it fully meets the requirements of the IEEE 802.3 standard. Compliance is also achieved when the module is integrated into an isolated enclosure. After successful power negotiation, the Ag59FE passes the supply voltage to the output and provides a “Power Good” signal. This signal informs a downstream DC/DC controller or microprocessor that the output voltage is stable and available, preventing start-up failures caused by voltage instability.

How Does Powering Multiple Devices via a PoE Daisy-Chain Work?
In a PoE daisy-chain, multiple devices can be powered over a single Ethernet cable. A PoE PD module – such as the Ag59FE from SILVERTEL – handles power negotiation with the PSE switch and enables the forwarding of supply voltage to downstream devices.
