HV- & E-Mobility
E-Mobility in Industrial Sectors
The word e-mobility immediately makes most people think of electric cars but e-mobility has become indispensable in many other industrial sectors as well. E-mobility has been around in non-automotive areas for much longer. For example, industrial trucks such as forklifts, but also automated guided vehicles (AGVs) have been electrically powered for a long time.
Connectors and cable assemblies are certainly among the most demanding components used in these applications, since the range of possible sources of interference is greater than almost any other. This makes it very important for connectors and cables to perform their service safely and reliably for years to come.
Samples Contacts NewsThe further development of mobile power supply systems tends towards higher voltages in order to increase capacities and at the same time reduce unnecessary ballast in benefit of load capacity. These high voltages require a high degree of safety of the entire system. In the area of HV-connectors, for example, the current contacting itself is monitored by the so-called interlock function (HVIL). In the event of maintenance or even an emergency, many applications are equipped with a MSD (Manual Service Disconnect), which disconnects the system from the power supply.
In addition to HV/HVIL connectors, MSDs, associated cable assemblies, and customer-specific busbars, CODICO also offers a wide range of popular EV-plugs for charging stations. Of course, these can also be value-added to form a complete product (e.g. wall chargers or EV charging cables). Besides charging systems CODICO also offers the development of battery swapping concepts. The design, development and manufacture of PDUs/BDUs (Power Distribution Unit/Battery Distribution Unit) are also among the strengths of CODICO and our partners. Experienced CODICO employees contribute a wide variety of fresh ideas, and our close contact with suppliers ensures that the feasibility and efficiency of your project is always in view.
