The Float27® SMT connectors from EPT expand the proven One27® product family with a flexible floating solution for demanding board-to-board applications. They compensate for mechanical deviations that occur during PCB placement, positioning and soldering, ensuring reliable connections even under challenging installation conditions.
Precise Tolerance Compensation in a Compact Design
With a 1.27mm pitch, Float27® provides tolerance compensation of ±0.8mm in the X and Y directions during mating and in the mated state. In addition, the connectors offer contact overlap of up to 2.4mm in the Z direction and a variable board-to-board spacing ranging from 26.1mm to 30.7mm.
Compatible with the One27® Product Family
Thanks to its proven mating system, Float27® is compatible with the male headers of the One27® product family and can be flexibly integrated into existing designs. This simplifies the implementation of new interconnect solutions without requiring a change to the established mating system.
Reliable Even Under Vibration and Shock
High resistance to vibration and shock, low mating forces, and reduced stress on the mating area and solder joints contribute to a secure, long-lasting connection, even under demanding operating conditions.

How Does Float27® Compensate for Mechanical Tolerances in Board-to-Board Connections?
The floating mechanism allows the connector to move by ±0.8mm in both the X and Y directions. This enables Float27® to compensate for misalignment between PCBs and reduce mechanical stress during mating and on the solder joints.
