PCA Series: New 1,500W Power Supply for Medical Applications
PCA Series Now Meets Medical Standards of EN/IEC 60601-1
COSEL Japan has expanded its PCA series with the introduction of a powerful 1,500W power supply, extending the series' capabilities to cover a wide range of applications from 300W to 1,500W. Designed to meet the rigorous medical standards of EN/IEC 60601-1, the PCA1500F features reinforced input-to-output isolation rated at 4,000VAC and complies with 2x means of patient protection (2xMOPP).

The PCA series supports a universal input voltage range of 85 to 264VAC, and its output can operate in either constant voltage (CV) or constant current (CC) mode, controlled via analogue or digital interfaces. All PCA series models are housed in compact 1U enclosures, utilising COSEL’s high-density, integrated design with optimised cooling.
Wide Range of Output Voltage Options
The series offers six output voltage options - 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, 32V, and 48V - suitable for a broad spectrum of applications. Each output voltage is adjustable to near-zero volts and can operate in either CV or CC mode. Notably, the 5V model can be trimmed down to 3V, making it suitable for 3.3V computing applications, while the 48V model can be trimmed up to 57.6V to support the growing demand for Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications. Additionally, the PCA1500F provides an independent, isolated auxiliary output of 12V, which can be digitally adjusted within a range of 4.7 to 12.6VDC.
Advanced Control Interfaces
For enhanced control and flexibility, the PCA1500F includes both analogue and digital interfaces. The analogue interface features current and voltage adjustments (ITRM and VTRM), remote ON/OFF control, voltage sensing, LED alarms, and current monitoring. The extended UART digital interface adds further versatility, supporting over 80 commands for comprehensive monitoring and control, making the PCA1500F an ideal solution for demanding medical and industrial environments.
