High-Frequency TCXO up to 104MHz with Low Phase Noise

New “DSB1612SEB” Series from KDS
KDS has developed the TCXO series DSB1612SEB, supporting output frequencies of up to 104MHz. The 104MHz frequency is expected to become a future standard for mobile communication applications. Frequencies around 70MHz, 80MHz, and 90MHz are also gaining importance, as they enable a doubling of the previously used radio frequencies.
Features of DSB1612SEB Series
- Frequency range up to max. 104MHz
(76.8 MHz to 104MHz currently available as samples; mass production starting January 2026.) - Ultra-low phase noise and jitter (see diagram)
- Stable temperature characteristics:
±0.5 ppm max. (−40 to +85°C)
±5.0×10⁻⁶ max. (−40 to +105°C)

Unique Design of KDS TCXOs
The DSB1612SEB model features a so-called One Room Package, in which the crystal blank and the IC are housed in the same room. In contrast, most competitors use an H-shaped two-room-structure, where the crystal blank and the IC are placed in separate “rooms.” In this setup, the crystal blank is hermetically sealed, while the IC is only resin-encapsulated and therefore not fully protected. This design usually results in a Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL) classification of 2 or higher, meaning the products must be packaged in moisture-proof bags with desiccant. KDS TCXOs, on the other hand, consistently feature a single-room construction with MSL 1, eliminating the need for special moisture control – a clear advantage of using KDS products.

Why is it Worth Using the KDS DSB1612SEB TCXO?
The DSB1612SEB delivers a maximum output frequency of 104MHz, ultra‑low phase noise and jitter, and exceptional temperature stability (±0.5 ppm over –40 to +85°C and ±5.0×10⁻⁶ over
–40 to +105°C). Its unique single‑room package achieves MSL 1, removing the requirement for moisture‑control packaging, while the 70–90MHz frequency range expands radio bandwidth for future mobile and IoT applications. Typical areas of application are wireless communication (mobile RF, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, etc.), GPS/GNSS receivers and high-frequency signal sources such as ADC/DAC clocks.
